I missed the first 30 mins so this is great it was recorded, i Actually was able to ask the question regarding the data they provided on service calls, it’s at or about the 1:43 mark.
Honestly the only problem I see here is that there were an astounding 17,081 calls for service in 2019 alone. Which for a town of only 26,000 seems a little excessive. I hope that they define a call for service vs. a 911 call. Still that is just an amazing stat factoid.
Not sure there is much of an agenda... but here is what is on the town website
On Tuesday, July 7th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the City of Hercules will be hosting a Virtual Town Hall on Community Policing. The Town Hall Meeting is intended to provide an opportunity for honest and open dialogue with the community, specifically around our local community and police relations. While not a formal City Council meeting, some Council Members will be there to listen to community members, with the Town Hall hosted by City Manager David Biggs and Police Chief William Imboden.
In light of the recent events across the nation, this meeting aims to address local policing practices and any opportunities for improvements. The City invites the community to participate in this open forum, in keeping with our commitment to community engagement. All members of the public are encouraged to provide their input on how officers can better protect and serve their constituents.
“The Hercules Police Department has never, and will never tolerate hate, and we do not operate from a position of hate. We are well trained and take every precaution to maintain the safety of everyone we come into contact with…” said Police Chief Imboden. Read the Police Chief’s message to the community in its entirety: Chief's Letter . Information on the Police Department can also be found at Police Webpage. The Police Department also recently shared their 2019 Use of Force statistics and they can be found here: 2019 Use of Force Report
The Town Hall Meeting will be held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health concerns, as well as current restrictions on public gatherings under the Contra Costa County shelter in place orders.
Interested participants may attend and participate in the Town Hall Meeting via Zoom.
